Formula Student is the largest engineering competition in the world for students. The project is designed to increase the quality of newly examined engineers by giving them more practical experience during their studies. Each year, Formula Student teams are challenged to make a fictional manufacturing company to design and develop a small formula-style racing car targeted at the nonprofessional weekend autocross enthusiasts. Based on a predetermined set of templates and rules, they must design the fastest, most effective racing vehicle possible while minimizing costs, maximizing reliability, and utilizing the latest automotive technologies. Competitions are held all over the world and teams are judged by leading engineers from the automotive industry on not only how the car performs but also how well it is engineered.


The chief suspension is responsible for the design and build of the complete suspension package for the car. You will work together with assigned team members and manage them with their research, design and building process. You will be working together the Vehicle Dynamics department, who will design the geometry of the car. The suspension is one of the most important pieces of a race car, any car for that matter. This function requires you to continue with it after the internship!


  • A complete, rule compliant, suspension package for the HFS-05 car (with documentation)

  • Front wishbones
  • Steering system
  • Rear uprights
  • Rear wheelhubs
  • Rear brakes
  • Rear wishbones
  • A well-managed and organized department.
  • Literature report
  • Final report


The work will be conducted mostly at the HAN Formula Student office at the HAN University of Applied Sciences. (Automotive building)


The work will start in September 2019 and end after the competitions in the summer of 2020.
This means you will stay in function after you finished your internship!
At least 40 hours a week.
